Terms of Use
By using trialcatcher.com, creating an account, or sending an application to a clinic, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don't use the site.
What TrialCatcher is — and is not
TrialCatcher is a directory of clinical research studies and the clinics running them, with a place for members to follow, save, ask and talk to each other. We are not a healthcare provider, we do not run studies, and nothing on this site is medical advice. Every study belongs to the clinic and the sponsor running it. Whether you qualify, what happens during a study, and everything about your care is between you and that clinic.
A listing is not an offer, a promise of a place, or a claim that a treatment works. Where a study offers compensation for time and travel, that is what it is — taking part in research is not employment.
Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate details.
- One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us if you think someone else has it.
- Handles are first come, first served. Some are reserved because they collide with pages on this site, and we may reclaim one that impersonates a person, a clinic or a brand.
- You can close your account whenever you like — email us and we will delete it.
Applying to a study
When you apply, your answers go to that clinic and to nobody else. To apply you must agree to be contacted by that clinic — this is the sentence you tick, word for word, with the clinic's own name in place of "this clinic":
I authorize this clinic to contact me about this study by phone or email. This includes automated phone calls that may use an artificial or AI-generated voice, and calls may be recorded. I can withdraw consent anytime.
Text messages are optional and separate:
I also agree to receive automated text messages (SMS) about clinical studies. Msg frequency varies; msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required to participate.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You can withdraw consent at any time — reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link on an email, tell the clinic, or change it in your account.
Applying does not enrol you. A clinic decides who is eligible, and it may not have a place for you.
What you post
What you write stays yours. By posting it here you allow us to show it on the network to the people the screen says can see it. Please don't post:
- Someone else's health information, or anything you were told in confidence.
- Medical advice presented as fact, or claims that a treatment cures or is guaranteed to work.
- Anything unlawful, hateful, threatening, or written to deceive — including pretending to be a clinic, a doctor or another member.
- Advertising, spam, or recruitment for a study by anyone who is not the clinic running it.
We may remove a post or suspend an account that breaks these rules. We are not obliged to moderate everything, and a post staying up is not our endorsement of it.
Be careful what you share about your own health in public. Other members can read it, and once it is out you cannot take it back from the people who read it.
For clinics
A clinic that joins agrees separately to the terms of its account. In short: it is responsible for the accuracy of what it publishes, for the lawfulness of the studies it lists and the outreach it sends, for the consent of the people it contacts, and for the confidentiality of the records it holds. Access to a clinic's records through this site is logged in that clinic's own audit trail, naming the person who looked.
Using the site properly
Don't try to break, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service; don't try to reach records that are not yours; don't use the site to build a competing database of people. Automated access outside our published sitemap and robots rules is not permitted.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service up, but we do not promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If a change materially affects these Terms, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from a clinical study, a clinic's decisions, or your treatment. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. This site is not for urgent medical help.
Ending your use
You can stop using TrialCatcher at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, or where we must for legal reasons. Applications you already sent to a clinic belong to that clinic's records.
Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Florida have jurisdiction — unless the law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim where you are, which it may.
