This listing covers two research studies for adults 18 to 75 with focal epilepsy who have tried at least two seizure medicines. Both test an investigational medicine against a placebo. Taking part includes keeping a seizure diary. A study team will check if you may be able to join.
If your focal onset seizures—seizures starting in one part of your brain—continue despite taking anti-seizure medicine, you may qualify for this drug resistant epilepsy research study. We're enrolling adults currently on at least one anti-seizure medication who meet specific criteria. Participation involves keeping a seizure diary and study visits. A qualified study team will determine your eligibility.

Do I have to have tried other medications first?
Yes. You must have tried at least 2 different anti-seizure medications that didn't control your seizures before you can enroll in this study.
Can I join if I had brain surgery, radiation or a device for seizures?
Some studies have rules about recent brain surgery, radiation or devices used to treat seizures. Tell the study team about any treatment you have had, and they will go over it with you.
What if I've had clusters of seizures I couldn't count?
Some studies have rules about seizures that come in clusters too fast to count one by one. The study team will go over this with you during screening.
