Frequently asked questions

from Encore Medical Research
Am I eligible to participate if I recently tested positive for COVID-19?

Yes, if you have a confirmed positive test for COVID-19 (via PCR or rapid antigen test) collected within 4 days prior to enrollment, you may be eligible. Additionally, you should have started experiencing at least two COVID-19 symptoms within the last 4 days, with at least one being moderate or severe.

What health conditions might make me eligible for this study?

This study is designed for individuals at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19. You may qualify if you are 75 years or older, have certain chronic conditions (like cancer, kidney disease, or diabetes), are immunocompromised, or have multiple risk factors such as obesity, heart disease, or lung conditions.

Can I join the study if I haven’t had COVID-19 symptoms yet?

Yes, individuals without current symptoms can be enrolled under specific conditions. However, if you develop symptoms later, you’ll need to meet the full eligibility criteria related to symptom onset and testing.

What if I’m taking medications that interact with standard COVID-19 treatments?

If you’re unable to take certain approved COVID-19 treatments (like NMV/r) due to drug interactions, medical conditions, or other reasons, you may still be eligible for this study. The study is specifically looking at alternative treatment options for such individuals.

Are there any age restrictions for participating in this trial?

Yes, participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of providing informed consent.

What are the contraceptive requirements for participants?

Male participants must agree to use effective contraception or abstain from penile-vaginal intercourse during the study and for at least 3 months after the last dose. Female participants of childbearing potential must use highly effective contraception during the study and for at least 4 days after the last dose. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are not eligible to participate
