Am I the right age to join?
You must be between 18 and 75 years old to participate in this study.
Do I qualify if I’ve had thyroid problems for a while?
Yes. If you were diagnosed with primary hypothyroidism over a year ago. Patients who had thyroid cancer surgery may qualify if it was over 5 years ago, with no signs of recurrence.
What kind of thyroid medication should I be taking?
You need to be on a stable, FDA-approved dose of synthetic T4 (like levothyroxine) for at least 3 months before screening, and have been taking it continuously for the past 12 months.
What lab results do I need?
You’ll need at least two TSH lab results within the normal range (0.45–4.12 mIU/L), including one at the screening visit and one from the past year.
Are there weight or pregnancy requirements?
Yes. Your BMI must be between 18 and 40. If you’re a woman of childbearing potential, you must test negative for pregnancy and use birth control during the study.
What else should I expect?
You must be willing to sign an informed consent, attend all study visits, complete study tasks, and be able to follow instructions throughout the entire study.
