Am I eligible based on age and diagnosis?
Yes, if you’re between 18 and 75 years old and have had a diagnosis of Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsy (IGE) for at least 6 months, with generalized tonic-clonic (GTC) seizures.
What type of epilepsy qualifies for this study?
This study is for individuals with generalized (non-focal) epilepsy, including those with absence seizures, myoclonic jerks, or characteristic EEG patterns—without focal abnormalities.
What is required in terms of seizure history?
You must have had at least 3 days with a GTC seizure over the last 16 weeks before screening, evenly spread across that time. Seizure history will be confirmed by medical records and seizure diary entries.
Can I participate if I’m already taking medication or using devices for epilepsy?
Yes. You can be on up to 3 anti-seizure medications (ASMs), as long as they’re stable. Other treatments like VNS, DBS, RNS, or dietary therapy are also allowed if they’ve been stable long enough. Medical marijuana and other non-ASM treatments may also be allowed.
What are the birth control requirements?
If you or your partner can become pregnant, you must agree to use two forms of contraception (at least one highly effective) from 30 days before starting treatment through 60–120 days after the last dose, depending on your sex.
What else do I need to do to qualify?
You must be able to swallow tablets, complete daily eDiary entries, attend all study visits, and undergo required evaluations including seizure tracking, EEG, MRI or CT scans, and vision tests. You must also be stable on any other medications or supplements for at least 30 days prior.
